Driving Directions

From Port Askaig

From Bridgend
  • Follow the Main Road to Port Askaig
  • Drive through the village of Ballygrant
  • The Inn is on the left directly after the village

Getting to Islay

 

BY CAR

From Glasgow, drive to Kennacraig – this journey should take approximately 2.5 hours. Take the A82 up Loch Lomondside, turning onto the A83 at Tarbet, and then carry on to Inveraray and Lochgilphead towards Tarbert, Loch Fyne. Kennacraig Ferry terminal is 5 miles from Tarbert and is where you embark on the Calmac ferry MV Finlaggan or MV Hebridean Isles to take you onwards to Islay.

BY BUS

A daily bus service operates from Buchanan Street Bus Station, Glasgow by West Coast Motors and Citylink, making a connection with the Islay ferry at Kennacraig Ferry Terminal. www.citylink.co.uk

BY FERRY

Caledonian MacBrayne operate the 2 hours ferry crossing to Islay four times a day. www.calmac.co.uk

BY AIR

Loganair run a 40 minute scheduled service 7-days a week from Glasgow Airport to Islay Airport. www.loganair.co.uk
